Memorial candles
A small light to remember someone by.
Memorial candles, also called remembrance candles, are candles lit to remember someone who has died. We make them by hand in Midrand, Johannesburg, for funerals, memorial services, tombstone unveilings and quiet moments at home.
Any candle you buy on its own can carry a small printed label with their name and dates, or a short line, for R 10 per candle. There is no minimum, so one candle is fine.

- A pillar candle beside the photo or the programme, or one on each table.
- For guests
- A small candle for each guest to take home, with the name and dates on the label.
- At an unveiling
- A candle for the family on the day, with the name on the label.
- At home
- A candle to light on their birthday, or on any day you want to remember them. A vessel candle leaves its eco resin vessel behind, to keep.
- At a wedding
- A candle on the table for someone who is missed.

What the label can say.

How to order
Three simple steps.
Choose a candle
Open a candle and pick the size, colour and scent. Ivory, cream and dove grey are quiet colours.
Add the name
Type the name and dates in the label box on the candle's page, up to 25 characters.
We make it by hand
We pour each candle to order and add the label. Candles with a personalised label are dispatched within 3-5 business days. Then we courier it, or you collect in Midrand.
If the service is soon, please send us a WhatsApp first, so we can tell you what we can make in time.
For 20 or more candles, send us the number and the date, and we will send you a quote. We can deliver to a home, an office or a venue.

- What can a memorial candle label say?
- A name and the years, like "Mama Rose 1941-2026", or a short line, like "Forever in our hearts". Up to 25 characters, spaces included. It is printed on a small label and added to the candle.
- How much does the label cost?
- R 10 per candle, on any candle you buy on its own. There is no minimum. A set of candles pays R 10 for each candle in it, and each one gets the label.
- How soon can you make them?
- Candles with a personalised label are dispatched within 3-5 business days. Delivery then takes 1-2 business days in Gauteng and 3-5 elsewhere in South Africa, or you can collect for free in Midrand. If the service is soon, send us a WhatsApp first and we will tell you what we can make in time.
- Can you make candles for everyone at the service?
- Yes. For 20 or more candles, send us an enquiry or a WhatsApp with the number and the date, and we will send you a quote. A larger order in our standard colours takes about 1 to 3 weeks to make.
- Can you print a photo on the candle?
- The label you add in our shop is printed text: a name and dates, or a short line, up to 25 characters. If you would like a photo, send us a WhatsApp and ask, and we will tell you what we can do.
- What are your memorial candles made of?
- Our moulded candles, like pillars and spheres, are a blend of soy wax, beeswax and a touch of coconut wax, with a cotton wick. Candles poured into our eco resin vessels are pure soy wax, with a cotton or wooden wick. We make them by hand in Midrand, Johannesburg, and we never use paraffin.
