Kitchen tea favours

Small candles with the bride's name on the label, a thank you for every guest. R 10 per candle, no minimum.

In South Africa, a bridal shower is often called a kitchen tea. Thank your guests with a small hand-poured candle, with the bride's name or the date on a printed label for R 10 per candle. There is no minimum to order favours online.

Our favour candles are hand-poured soy, beeswax and coconut candles, made in small batches in Midrand, Johannesburg. We never use paraffin. Add a small eco resin dish as a keepsake, or as a gift for the bride.

How it works

Three simple steps.

  1. Pick a candle

Choose a small candle below, then pick the size, colour and scent on its page.

  2. Add your label

Type a name, a date or a short message, up to 25 characters. It costs R 10 per candle. There is no minimum, so one candle is fine.

  3. We make them by hand

We pour each candle to order and add your printed label. Then we wrap them and courier them to you, or you collect in Midrand.

Bridal party

A bridesmaid proposal box.

Asking your friends to be bridesmaids? Put a small candle with her name on the label and a little ring dish in a box with a note. It is a sweet way to ask, and a gift she will keep.

Good to know.

What do you give guests at a kitchen tea?
A small thank-you gift, also called a favour. A candle is a good choice: guests use it at home, and a label with the bride's name makes it personal. A small eco resin dish is a favour guests keep.
How much should kitchen tea favours cost?
Kitchen tea favour candles start at R 40 per guest with a printed name label: the Scallop Shell at R 30, plus R 10 for the label. Put the bride's name or the date of the kitchen tea on the label. Bigger candles and keepsakes cost more. Each card on this page shows its live price.
Can the label have the bride's name?
Yes. Type the bride's name, the date or a short thank you, up to 25 characters, for example "Thandi's Kitchen Tea". It costs R 10 per candle, with no minimum.
How early should I order kitchen tea favours?
As early as you can. Candles with a personalised label are dispatched within 3-5 business days. For 20 or more pieces, ask us for a quote first: about 1 to 3 weeks in our standard colours, or at least 6 weeks for custom colours. Order once the kitchen tea date is set, and send it to us on WhatsApp so we can plan around it.
Are the eco resin dishes food safe?
No. Our hand-cast eco resin dishes are for rings, keys and decor, not for food. They are sealed with a clear top coat, so they are splash-resistant, but they are not food-safe.
Can I collect in Midrand?
Yes. Choose collection at checkout and collect free of charge in Midrand, Johannesburg. Or we courier anywhere in South Africa. On a quote, we can also send to your venue, or to more than one address.
What are the candles made of?
Our moulded candles are a blend of soy wax, beeswax and a little coconut wax, with a cotton wick. Candles poured into our vessels, like the Fluted Tumbler, are pure soy wax, with a cotton or wooden wick. We make them in small batches in Midrand, Johannesburg, and we never use paraffin.
