Our Story
Made slowly, by hand.
Éluvane is a small studio in South Africa making sculptural candles and hand-cast eco resin homeware by hand. We were founded by Livhuwani Mbulungeni in 2026 - a single-person practice built around the belief that the small comforts of an evening deserve objects shaped with care.

What we make from.
The wax
Soy, beeswax and coconut wax for our moulded candles, and pure soy for candles in jars and homeware. Clean burning, never paraffin.
The fragrance
Phthalate-free, restrained not overpowering - designed to settle into a room.
The homeware
Hand-cast in eco resin, a water-based material that holds fine detail, and finished in soft tones from ivory to charcoal.
The making
Small batches, hand-poured and hand-cast in our Midrand, Johannesburg studio. Never rushed.
The process
From mould to finish.

The mould
Each form is cast from an original sculpture - hand-shaped before it ever sees wax.

The pour
Wax is heated slowly. Fragrance is added at 65 °C and stirred until folded in.

The set
A minimum of 24 hours before unmoulding. Rushing this step shows in the finish.

The finish
Wick trimmed, base inspected, wrapped by hand in recycled paper and linen.
From the founder
A note from Livhuwani.
Every candle is poured by hand in small batches, one at a time. The forms come first; the scent is restrained, intended to live with you rather than announce itself. Our moulded candles are a natural blend of soy wax, beeswax, and coconut wax, and candles poured into jars or into our homeware are pure soy, all with clean fragrance, free of phthalates and parabens, in a palette of ivory, mocha, and warm neutral tones drawn from the Highveld light.
What we make is meant to slow you down. A candle to mark the beginning of a meal, the closing of the workday, a long bath. Quiet ceremony.
Alongside the candles, we cast homeware by hand in eco resin - trinket dishes, vessels, trays and small sculptural objects, finished in soft, chalky tones from ivory to charcoal. The same restraint as the candles, worked in a different material.
The studio is in Midrand, Johannesburg. Each piece carries the trace of being made by hand - small variations in form, faint marks where the wax met the mould - and we list those traces as part of the object, not a defect.
