Kitchen tea favour ideas guests will keep
A kitchen tea is a party for the bride-to-be before the wedding. It is what many South Africans call a bridal shower. Many hosts give each guest a small favour to say thank you for coming. Here are a few ideas that guests will keep.
A small candle with a label
A small candle makes an easy favour. The Waffle Heart, the Scallop Shell and the slim Ribbed Taper are good favour sizes. Each page shows the live price.
Add a small printed label with the bride's name or a short message. It costs R10 per candle and holds up to 25 characters, spaces included. For example:
- Thandi's Kitchen Tea
- Thank you, love Lerato
- With love, Naledi
Our moulded candles are made from a natural blend of soy wax, beeswax and a touch of coconut wax, with a cotton wick. We never use paraffin.
A keepsake dish
An eco resin trinket dish is a favour guests use every day, for rings, earrings or keys. The Heart Dish, the Shell Dish and the Daisy Dish are small and hand-cast in soft tones. They are for jewellery and decor, not for food. The printed label goes on candles only.
Pick one colour
Choose one colour for all the favours to match your day. Our candle colours are ivory, cream, blush, rose, sage, dove grey, lilac, taupe, mocha and charcoal. For a kitchen tea, the soft ones work well: blush or rose for a pink table, ivory or cream for any theme, and sage for a garden tea.
A gift for the bride
Want to give the bride something too? A candle with an eco resin dish or tray is a gift she can use in her new home.
Asking your friends to be bridesmaids? A small candle with her name on the label and a trinket dish fit well in a bridesmaid proposal box.
How early to order
Every candle is made by hand to order. Candles with a label leave our studio within 3 to 5 business days, and then the courier takes a few days more. For 20 or more favours, ask us for a quote. Our standard colours take about 1 to 3 weeks to make.
