Bulk candle orders for shops, weddings and events. How we make them.

People often ask if a small studio can make a big order. Yes, we can. Every candle is still poured by hand, one at a time, in Midrand, Johannesburg. We just pour in batches. This is how a bulk order works with us.

What we have made lately

In October we poured one order of 180 candles for a decor shop: ribbed pillars in three sizes and two kinds of dinner taper, in cream, blush and mocha. Before we poured the rest, we sent the shop a photo of the first batch in daylight, so they could check the colour.

We also made 160 marble fluted tumblers as favours for an event. Each one was a small candle poured into our own hand-cast eco resin tumbler, wrapped in a clear box with twine and our label. The guests took them home after the event. Read the full story of the 160 tumbler favours.

Who orders in bulk

• Shops and stockists that want to sell handmade candles. We supply ribbed and fluted pillars, dinner tapers and sculptural candles in your choice of colours.
• Weddings and events. Candle favours for guests, and candles for the tables.
• Corporate gifts. Year-end gifts for clients and staff, with your choice of colour and scent.

What the candles are made of

Our moulded candles, like pillars, tapers and spheres, are made from a natural blend of soy wax, beeswax and a touch of coconut wax, with a cotton wick. Candles poured into a vessel, like our tumblers, are pure soy wax with a cotton or wooden wick. We never use paraffin.

How a bulk order works

1. Tell us what you need. The shapes, colours, scent or unscented, how many, and the date you need them by.
2. We send a quote with a photo of each piece and the price per piece.
3. You pay a deposit to start. The balance is paid before we send the order.
4. We pour your order in batches. For a big order, we send you a photo of the first batch so you can check the colour.
5. We wrap and send it by courier anywhere in South Africa, or you collect it in Midrand.

How long it takes

For our standard colours, plan on about one to three weeks, depending on how many you need. For custom colours matched to your palette, allow at least six weeks. For December, order early.

Favours with names

For wedding favours we can add a small printed label with your names, a date or a short message. It costs R10 per candle and there is no minimum. You can order favours straight from the wedding favours page.
