What to give guests at a baby shower

At a baby shower, many hosts give each guest a small thank-you gift to take home. A small candle works well. It is light to carry, guests use it, and a label can carry the baby's name or the date.

Candles that suit a baby shower

• Teddy. A teddy bear candle with a soft rose texture and a bow.
• Waffle Heart. A small heart with a waffle texture. It also comes as a set of three sizes.
• Scallop Shell. A small shell candle, an easy favour for a long guest list.

Each page shows the live price for each size. These are moulded candles, made from a natural blend of soy wax, beeswax and a touch of coconut wax, with a cotton wick. We never use paraffin.

Add the baby's name

Any candle you buy on its own can carry a small printed label. It costs R10 per candle and holds up to 25 characters, spaces included. For example:

• Welcome baby Lwazi
• Thank you, love Amara
• Baby Naledi 2027

Pink, blue or neither?

Our candle colours are ivory, cream, blush, rose, sage, dove grey, lilac, taupe, mocha and charcoal. There is no bright pink or blue. For pink, choose blush or rose. There is no blue, so dove grey or sage are the soft choices for a boy. If you do not know yet, ivory or cream suit everyone.

A gender reveal

At a gender reveal, guests often guess before the big moment. Give each guest a favour in a neutral colour, like ivory or cream, with the date on the label, so the favours do not give the secret away.

A gift for the mom-to-be

For the mom-to-be, a candle with a small eco resin trinket dish makes a gift she can use, a safe place for her rings. The dish is for jewellery and decor, not for food.

Christenings and naming days

The same favours work for a christening or a naming day. Put the baby's name and the date on the label.

How early to order

Every candle is made by hand to order. Candles with a label leave our studio within 3 to 5 business days, and then the courier takes a few days more. For 20 or more favours, ask us for a quote. Our standard colours take about 1 to 3 weeks to make.
